The Plantcutter is threatened by widespread habitat destruction. With no solution in sight and no protection, the last sites for the species are disappearing.

Habitat Restoration

The Peruvian Plantcutter needs a unique habitat to survive. The project is reforesting 130 hectares of degraded land where the bird has recently been recorded.
